Bay Area Relationship Enhancement Workshops by

PEPSkills is a weekend "couples workshop" for people who would like to strengthen their relationship even further. It is not marriage counseling but rather a protective measure for couples who are dating, engaged, or newlyweds married for less than 5 years. Research shows that couples get the most out of marriage preparation in the year before and year after the wedding. Discussing key issues early on can mean the difference between enjoying marital bliss right from the start rather than a rough, unpleasant first few years together. A great deal of turmoil and stress between couples can be prevented simply by establishing and communicating values about issues prior to merging lives. Experts and researchers on marriage have found that participating in premarital education may lower chances of divorce by 30%. The purpose of this workshop is to help prepare couples for the fundamentals of marriage. Tools and strategies necessary to balance your new life are discussed, as well as respectful communication amidst difficult issues. The format is secular and skills-focused. It is not affiliated with any faith-based approach, though the topic of spirituality within the relationship is discussed.
